Labor Bag Hospital Checklist
Reduce your stress by packing your labor bag ahead of time.

Mom

  •   Anything that will help you
  • Focal point to aid concentration (a picture, stuffed animal, collectable)
  • Lip gloss, balm, or petroleum jelly
  • Hard Candy for dry mouth
  • Cards, games, books, or crossword puzzles
  • Cassette or CD player and music
  • Bathrobe, Pajamas, socks, nightgown, and slippers
  • Toothpaste, toothbrush and other toiletries
  • Hair band
  • A favorite pillow
  • A sponge or water spray to cool you down
  • Nursing bras or good support bras
  • Feminine pads
  • Comb, brush, shampoo, toilet articles
  • Hair dryer
  • Comfortable clothes for going home
  • Breast pump (If you’re going to use one)

Dad or Coach

  • Massage oils or lotions for back rubs and massage
  • Paint roller, rolling pin, or tennis balls for applying back pressure
  • Watch with a second hand
  • Notebook and pen to record observations
  • Snacks for both you and Mom
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, and other toiletries
  • Camera, video, and/or tape recorder
  • List of phone numbers to call with the news
  • Prepaid phone car or Cell Phone (For use outside Hospital)
  • Cards, games, books, or crossword puzzles
  • Bathing suit, if a bath or shower during labor is an option
  • Change of clothes
  • Money
  • A small gift for both Mom and the Baby
  • Your Support and Caring

Baby

  • Infant car seat Installed in Car (Read the instructions thoroughly)
  • Outfit for the trip home - Warm Clothes or snowsuit if it is winter
  • Receiving blanket
  • Baby nail clippers
  • One pair socks or booties
  • Cap
